 On the bench of the river Gnilopiat is standing Berdichev. This town keeps cultura of our people. In ХІХcentury Berdichev was one of the most developed trade and industrial towns, 80%of population was jevs. There was Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians, and other nationalities.

 ... There was T. Shevchenko, Shalom-Aleichem. Here was born G. Konrad the famouse English writer. In palace of Ragvills was a king of Poland. Earlier in this palace was a wedding of O. de Balzac and E. Hańska.
